  1. Past hour
  2. .gov paying to stay home definitely needs to go, but if you are running a business, eight automated checkout stations is eight humans who won’t be late, call in at the last minute, sabotage scheduling with frivolous last minute FMLA leave, steal from you, call the union because somebody else got to go home early, claim harassment when they receive some overdue discipline, and thrive on creating drama and chaos at work. The bigger picture is that automated machines reduce costs and increase profits. I don’t really like seeing them, but people seem to forget that businesses are in business to make money. Providing jobs, paying living wages, offering good benefits, and being assets to the community are not the reasons companies exist; they are merely the byproducts of a successful company.
  3. ArmyBrat, you are correct correct about .gov, paying way too much money to not work. Can you put a dollar amount per hour or salary that would be considered a living wage?
  4. Today
  5. It’s unconventional, but to persist and leave it posted publicly isn’t something I’d expect on top of using your address the popo could visit. I have the same initial reaction not having had comms with the seller. Maybe I’m being hopeful, but think will see pics of Scotty’s new $300 score in a bit. I’ve met someone at the home after being on the phone and he was an outstanding gent, retired Naval officer. There are reasons for folks to do it. Good luck @Scotty
  6. If you have to use this for defense, even the most hardened criminal will stop and ask, who designed that ?
  7. Nope, HD, Lowe's, Targay and others just won't pay a living wage. That's why they can't get workers....plus the .gov programs pay too well to stay home.
  8. I actually had a similar situation with my GoPro Hero 10. Got it for a trip to Iceland, ended up shooting barely 20 minutes because it was more fun just being in the moment. I thought I’d make all these epic videos but honestly, I just didn’t use it enough to justify keeping it. Ended up selling it barely used too.
  9. I spoke up at a Home Depot about this very situation. I counted the self service checkout spots, and there were eight of them. I said to the young man observing the self check out stations that there were eight jobs that people could have. He said, nope, we can't find anybody to work. We live in a sad world these days.
  10. My suggestion, would be to set up at the Safari Club International convention on their stop in Nashville; February 2026. My brother flies in from Kansas City every year to attend. Those are the customers you want. Anyone who’ll drop 20k+ for a hunt, will readily spend a couple hundred on good quality leather. YMMV SCI Nashville 2026 Best Regards Rod

  13. Safety Reminder for Buyers and Sellers This is an automatic reply meant to protect you as a buyer and a seller on TGO. Use the Buyer/Seller Feedback feature to research who you are dealing with. Please come back and leave feedback for each other after the transaction is complete. Your experience will help others. Never agree to use an electronic form of payment to buy or sell a gun! None of the electronic payment services will protect you against fraud in a firearms transaction. They all have terms of service FORBIDDING the use of their services to buy/sell guns. DON'T DO IT. Be very wary of anyone who insists on brokering a deal in private or outside of TGO. Scammers almost always prefer to operate out of the public eye. The complete Trading Post Rules and also some more helpful suggestions can be found by clicking this link.
