We really have come a long way.  Many moons ago I was a young and dumb child.  I lived across from a middle school and would sniper the kids with my BB gun as they got out of school.  I would usually target their behinds and often found my mark.  I wonder how my life would be different today if my childhood ignorance/pranks happened  4 decades later.  Not to mention the 6" knife I was caught with in auto shop.  Boy would I be up the river without a paddle.

Ok so are the parents going to school board meetings and/or trying to replace all the existing board members.  This is really just judicious but if you don't replace the assholes in charge than you get what you get.  JUST like in presidential elections NOT voting has consequences/

Its no wonder most young boys are growing up to be sissified.It seems that there are way too many people that are scared of their own shadow,just a lot of nonsense seems to take the place of common sense.One of my school friends cousin's used to have BB gun fights with Crosman pump ups,I wonder what the people would make of that nowadays.I can remember digging a BB or 2 out of their skulls a few times.

The two kids at the bus stop have every right not to be shot with plastic pellets. But what point does this become a school matter? The should've been a matter for law-enforcement if the students felt they were being harassed by the two boys in the yard.

Some of the neighbor kids were running around shooting each other with some cheap spring-powered, plastic pellet air-soft guns, I intervined just because I knew some of the other neighbors would have gotten pissy about it.

I showed them my air-soft/pellet range in my backyard, showed them some basic saftey stuff, gave them some spare saftey goggles/glasses & told them they could use my airsoft/pellet range any-time they wanted, they didn't need to ask first so long as they followed the safety rules.

So far so good, as far as I know everyone's eyeballs are still intact LOL!

In the little place I live it is against local ordnance to shoot a projectile.

BB, air soft, arrow, bullet, it has been that way for years, inside city limit's.

Now you can hunt, it is OK, inside city limit's.

Years ago we were going to have a bow shoot at a Scout event and was told we could not.

I used to have BB gun wars with my friends.  We'd be running around the neighborhood wearing camo, carrying guns without orange tips, and shooting and screaming at one another.  They'd probably call SWAT and the National Guard these days.

While I'd heartily applaud your initiative on this, you'd better talk to the kids' parents and have them sign a release.  If one of them gets hurt on your property, you'll get sued.  Sad but true.

When airsoft first got popular like paintball I though "bunch of p**** kids". lol When you get hit by a paintball or BB you knew you got hit...and usually so does everyone else. Past about 30 feet airsoft doesn't even sting. As this story states 70 yards I doubt they even felt it unless it hit bare skin.

As for the story though, I am down with saying: How is this a school issue? If anything, yes, it is a LE issue if the parent is really that concerned.

That pecker rule is a good one. We should have adopted that too. :)

Let's just say that if was that kid's parent, I wouldn't be a very good neighbor to the 911 caller anymore. I would hire a good lawyer, and I would most definately prohibit that school system from anymore involvent with my kids.
